Cursor Meetup Vienna #1 - Recap
February 13, 2026
60 attendees
Speakers
The very first Cursor Meetup Vienna brought together 60 builders for an evening of live demos, deep Q&A, and real talk about AI-assisted development.
We kicked off with a Q&A with Nate Schmidt from Cursor, who works on Model Behavior in the ML team. Great insights into how Cursor thinks about model integration.
Hasib Samad showcased how easy it is with Cursor to scrape public data from a website — just give it a URL and the model figures it out. Lukas Gäbler demoed how he uses Plan Mode to implement features step by step. Mardu Swanepoel went even further with a detailed prompt referencing multiple documents, files, and images for a full feature implementation.
We closed with a fireside chat between Markus Mueller (Co-Founder @ Flinn.ai), Hasib Samad (CTO @ Flinn.ai), and Mardu Swanepoel (AI Engineer @ Flinn.ai) — covering how token spending correlates with productivity, how the software engineering role is shifting, and how much time they save implementing features before vs. after Cursor. The conversation kept going well past the scheduled time.
